Ireland Report / Story
Part four in a series of articles dedicated to the reported events of a haunting in south Dublin. There are a number of events that occurred in a single property in the mid 1990's in south Dublin. With one incident it might have been brushed off, but the many events experienced in the house pulls on even the most level headed person's imagination.

If you haven't read the first three parts, you can read them at the links at the bottom of this article. This is a never before told story which has come to us directly from the primary witness after many years of deciding if they should tell their story. The names of the family involved and exact location of the property have been changed as other residents now live in the property, most probably unaware of the previous experiences at the house.

We have broken the account down into multiple articles to make it easier to digest and to allow for more of the experiences to come back to the witness as they continue to share with us over a period of time.

The story has been recalled by the individual who at the time was approximately 12 years old when they can remember the first events that occurred.

The Monk
Over the course of conversations with Evan he alluded to a figure he referred to as 'The Monk'. This figure always appeared the same, Evan described the appearance of the Monk as what we would know as a Franciscan Monk, the brown robe with a rope like belt, the Monk would appear with their hood pulled up over their head and the shadow cast by the hood would always cover the Monk's face.

One of the most memorable (if you can call it that) experiences that Evan recalled with the Monk was one night after Evan had made the trip from his own room into his parents bed and he was lying between his mother and father.

Evan can't recall what time it was, all he can remember was that it was still night as it was pitch dark outside with the orange glow of the street light shining in through the gaps in the curtains pulled across the bedroom window.

For whatever reason, Evan can't explain, he had a sudden feeling of being watched and an urge to look up from the pillow.

As Evan lifted his head up a and inch or two, just enough to look towards the end of the bed he saw what he describes as a male figure, a monk, with his hood up, face was covered by a shadow from his hood. The monk just stood there, nothing was said, their were no sounds, he or it just looked at Evan and Evan looked back.

Their was an uneasy feeling but Evan said that he wasn't terrified, just a little scared as he described it.

Evan was unable to recall how the experience ended, he woke up the next morning and remembered the whole experience, he didn't mention it to his parents for a reason he couldn't remember, he suggests it was most likely due the fear of not being believed by his parents.

The experience described by Even occurred a number of times over the years while living in the house, he couldn't recall the number of times though. Evan went on to also say that he couldn't recall experiencing the Monk prior to the house in question and he couldn't recall experiencing the Monk after leaving the house to the current day.
