The Pentagon's All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) is forging ahead in its pursuit of understanding unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), more commonly known as UFOs. Acting head Tim Phillips recently revealed that the AARO is in the process of developing portable sensor kits called the "Gremlin System" to collect real time data on mysterious objects in the sky or in space.

Phillips, in his role at AARO, stated that the Gremlin System is being created in collaboration with government laboratories and academia, with the aim of capturing data across multiple spectra. This cutting edge technology promises to revolutionise the way the military identifies and analyses various airborne phenomena.

The Gremlin System has already demonstrated its capabilities by detecting a diverse range of objects, including birds and bats, and has provided valuable insights into solar flaring. Phillips highlighted the significance of this technology in understanding what is present in Earth's orbit and how to distinguish such objects from genuine anomalies.

"We're really starting to understand what's in orbit around our planet and how we can eliminate those as anomalous objects," Phillips told reporters during a recent briefing.

One of the key applications of the Gremlin System is its potential use in surveilling sensitive sites for airspace intrusions and monitoring U.S. satellites in orbit. Phillips emphasised the importance of deploying these sensors in response to reports of UAP encounters near militarily significant locations or critical infrastructure.

"If we have a national security site and there are objects being reported that are spotted within restricted airspace, or within a maritime range, or in the proximity of one of our assets, we need to understand what that is," Phillips explained.

The AARO is planning to present the Gremlin System to Pentagon leaders, with the intention of deploying the sensor kits strategically to investigate and respond to UAP encounters in areas of military significance. This move signifies the U.S. Department of Defense's commitment to enhancing its capabilities to monitor and analyse unidentified aerial phenomena for national security purposes.

As the Gremlin System takes centre stage in the Pentagon's UFO research efforts, it marks a significant step forward in the global discourse surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena.
