Bullet Shaped UFO Witnessed Over Dublin in February 1967

On the 26th February 1967 at approximately 6pm, what has been described as a bullet shaped object was reported to have been witnessed by three people.
The object was witnessed flying at a low altitude, moving in the direction of Dublin airport. Given the reported shape of the object the witnesses reported you would easily assume it was a misidentified aircraft on route to land at Dublin airport.
Further details given by the witnesses run against the 'down to earth' assumption. The witnesses, Patrick Kerry, J. J. Whelan and Raphael Shortall all described the object giving off blue and yellow flashes of light.
With that said we don't know the weather conditions at the time of the sighting, normal aircraft do have green and red navigation lights as well as having bright strobe lights for different uses.
