In April 2025, unexplained aerial phenomena were reported in different parts of Ireland. Witnesses described unusual lights, strange movements, and unidentified objects in the night sky. The following are two such accounts which detail separate sightings in Dublin and County Meath.
Portobello, Dublin, Ireland (April 16th, 2025)
On the evening of 16 April 2025, at approximately 21:54 local time, a single witness in the Portobello area of Dublin, Ireland, reported observing a triangular-shaped object in the sky. The sighting occurred near the Atlas Language School. The object was described as roughly the size of a passenger plane and appeared to be directly overhead at an estimated distance of 122 metres. Initially stationary, it displayed three lights arranged in a triangular pattern, with one emitting a faint beam. The observer noted the presence of a haze or aura around the object. After remaining still for a short time, the object slowly rotated before disappearing quickly. No sound accompanied the event. The witness stated, "Walking to meet a friend I notice a glowing light in the clouds above my head. I walk about 50 meters and it appears to be still above my head, I begin notice three lights now, with a slight hazy beam coming from one of the lights, as i kept staring it at i managed get a photo that clarified what i thought i has seen with greater detail. Then the lights start moving slowly as it rotates, then quickly disappeared. And by the way, no sound at all." The sighting was reported to NUFORC on 2 May 2025.
Slane, Meath, Ireland (April 30th, 2025)
In the early hours of 30 April 2025, at 01:03 local time, a separate sighting was reported near Slane, County Meath, Ireland. A single witness observed two large orbs, one green and the other orange, from an elevated hill approximately 6.4 kilometres to the south. The orbs were described as extremely bright and large, surrounded by a haze or aura, and appeared to change colour during the event. The observer also noted that sound was present and animals in the vicinity reacted to the occurrence. The sighting was consistent with previous observations from the same location, where the witness claimed to regularly see 15 to 20 orbs per hour. The observer remarked, "I was in the usual spot I see the craft at night. When 2 very bright and very big orbs appeared. I usually see 15-20 orbs an hour from my location. And I have been watching them coming closer since September 2024. Now they are coming very close to my house." This report was submitted on 3 May 2025.
