Encounter with Five 'Greys' in Siberian Forest

In the winter of 1993 in a remote region of Siberia in a post-soviet era, an incident which seems to be very different in contrast to many of the western world's interaction with unknown craft or creatures.
The incident is said to have involved Russian troops and a alien craft which five alien beings.
The incident is reported to have started when a detachment of infantrymen from a garrison in the area were out on a training exercise.
While on this training exercise the infantrymen became aware of an object hovering over a remote and isolated piece of woodland.
The infantrymen jumped to the conclusion that the object was hostile and proceeded to fire a surface to air missile at the object, which hit and caused the object to spin out of control and disappear beneath the tree line.
The infantrymen approached the downed object in a standard militray approach by fanning out to approach a target.
Upon reaching the downed object the infantrymen witnessed five beings emerge from the object, the beings were described as stumpy in appearance and having large black eyes.
Two of the Russian infantrymen approached the beings with their guns drawn and demanded that the beings surrender, one of the beings opened fire with some unknown weapon.
As soon as whatever the unknown weapon emitted and hit the two Russian infantrymen the two men turned into what looked like stone statues.
All five of the beings then started to indiscriminately fire these unknown weapons at the rest of the Russian troops.
Two of the Russian soldiers were able to make an escape and make it back to their garrison.
The two soldiers returned with additional support in the form of additional troops, armored vehicles and air support.
There we to be shocked by what they found, there was no sign of the downed object or the five beings that the two men had witnessed but even stranger was that they found the other 23 of the troops that had initially approached the downed object frozen into statues of some unknown compound or mineral.
It's then said that the KGB got involved and incident was kept quiet, the 23 soldiers 'frozen' remains were sent off to a laboratory in Moscow for detailed studying.
It's also said that after looking at the compound or mineral that the soldiers were turned into, scientists were unable to identify the substance. It was concluded that it was similar in makeup to limestone that is found on earth but ultimately the unknown compound was deemed to extra-terrestrial in origin.
