Canadian scientists are investigating radio signals discovered between 2019 and 2021 to try and identify the source of these signals.

The CHIME project or Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment project which is an interferometric radio telescope at the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory in British Columbia, Canada which consists of four antennas consisting of 100 x 20 metre cylindrical parabolic reflectors with 1024 dual-polarization radio receivers suspended on a support above them.

25 FRBs or fast radio bursts were recorded between 2019 and 2021 which has led to scientists investigating to further understand what and where these signals came from.

Dr. Ziggy Pleunis said,
"FRBs are likely produced by the leftovers from explosive stellar deaths,"

"By studying repeating FRB sources in detail, we can study the environments that these explosions occur in and understand better the end stages of a star's life."

"We can also learn more about the material that's being expelled before and during the star's demise, which is then returned to the galaxies that the FRBs live in."

Scientists involved in the research did say that the large blasts of energy do not indicate alien life, which at this stage just goes to show that unknown or mysterious radio signals shouldn't be jumped upon with the assumption that some form of being created them.

With that said we'll be keeping an eye on what further findings come out of the deep dive investigation being done on these FRBs.
