A Final Goodbye

The witness recalls that they were around 7 or 8 years old when this incident took place. The witness and their family went to visit the witness's grandmother who had had a stroke a year before.
The witnesses' grandmother lived with their aunt and uncle who looked after the grandmother. The grandmother slept in her own room that she had shared with her husband up until approximately 1 and a half years previously when he had passed away in the same room.
The aunt and uncle had set up a baby monitor for the grandmother to ring a bell when she needed assistance as she was unable to walk or talk due to the stroke.
The weekend that the witness was there with their family the mother and father of the witness took over looking after the baby monitor to give the aunt and uncle a bit of a break and allow them to get some uninterrupted sleep.
The witness stated that they always woke up early when they stayed at the house, this morning in question was no different. At approximately 6-6.30am the witness woke up, with their sister also being awake at this time.
The witness then heard a voice from the baby monitor and thinking it was their uncle talking to their grandmother, the witness called their sister over to listen to the conversation over the baby monitor.
Just as they both started listening to the conversation they realised it wasn't their uncle but their deceased grandfather talking to their grandmother. The grandfather was asking the grandmother how she was and what had been happening, to the witness and their sisters' surprise they heard their grandmother reply staying that the family were over visiting and that she was happy to see them all and that she was being taken care of very well.
At this point the witness and their sister woke up their dad and told him everything they had heard, the father got out of bed and went downstairs to the ground floor room where the grandmother slept to find her alone and asleep in her room.
The witness's parents told the uncle about what had happened and the uncle is reported to be shocked and went white in the face, the uncle then proceeded to say that he had experienced something similar. The first time the uncle put it down to the postman popping his head in the window to say hello but then found that the postman didn't arrive till later that day.
Fast-forward a bit the witnesses grandmother had passed away and on the day she was buried the witnesses sister went into the grandmothers bedroom, there was a large oak dresser with many family photos on it, all the glass on the photos was steamed up and the mirror behind them was steamed up also.
But the odd thing was that a single photo of the grandparents wedding photo wasn't steamed up and the mirror behind also wasn't steamed up.
The local parish priest was there and witnessed this and said it was a final goodbye from both grandparents.
